It’s very quiet those days at the cafe, everyone is leaving or about to leave on holidays or just enjoying their free time outside, I’m not very much at the computer myself! Anyway it’s making a weird noise now, I wonder if it could be because of the high temperatures we’ve got here.  Coco - that’s how I call the machine is okay in the mornings and then when it gets warmer the noise starts, exactly like an old car that you would leave with the engine on in the sun for too long.

It’s a shame though it’s so quiet in the summer, because it will be the last weeks I can work from home and spend lots of time on the website. In September, everything will change and I’d better be extremely motivated to carry on, for I’ll just have my evenings and my Sundays to deal with everything and everyone. Extremely motivated I am but it’s not enough sometimes. Oh well, as long as I’m having fun it’s okay.

I’ve made a new kit, I wanted to do something “different” so here it is, different there are no papers because basically I thought I would create something to be used on plain white backgrounds! But it can be used with any paper from any kit and mixed with any element as well: it will match every color you choose to use, that is what I wanted to do initially. There are many ways to use those elements and I would like to thank Rhonda and Karelle for using them on their layouts and Lynn for allowing me to use papers and elements from her kits, to show you examples! This is for personal use only. For your own personal use, you can recolor the elements and play with them to add textures or even create new elements for your layouts.

Thank you for not sharing our files and linking to our website instead of sharing the gifts we offer to our community members and customers!!! This is hard enough.  We offer freebies to our visitors and customers, what is the point in sharing freebies? Do you feel good when you do this sincerely? At least once a month now, someone reports piracy to me and I feel really angry and sad some days. Same as for pirating products, not mentionning the fact that those products are already cheap, it might not look like it takes time to create them but it does. Time and energy too, to set up and run and organize everything. I feel angry for Lynn after her stuff was pirated, I feel sad today I had to report piracy again at 4Shared. The DigitalArts-cafe designers and me and the people who help me with the forum and all the rest, still do this as a hobby for most of us, we’re just here to have fun and enjoy ourselves, and you just discourage everyone and me first when you steal. You will probably not understand what I’m saying here and it will go on and on and I will still read what I’ve written here on other designers’ blogs again and again. But now I feel much better, I had to write it.

The June Color Challenge was a success, it’s not over yet and you can still join in!!! This week the DigitalArts-cafe team wishes a happy birthday to  Maria and her Digifree search engine, it’s one year old already, I can’t believe time is going so fast!! I remember when Maria started it, I had just started my first digital scrapbook blog on Blogger, last year in spring, I was discovering a brand new world and meeting my first friends on-line lots of them have completely disappeared but some are stilll here today!! It’s been a fun and great adventure!!

It reminds me that next September, the DigitalArts-cafe will be one year old too!

We have to start thinking about ways of celebrating our first year!! Of course I already have like… hundreds of ideas but if there is anything special you would like to do, customers, regular visitors that I see every week since the start you ladies who often share your layouts and regularly send us kind messages, community and team members, do not hesitate to submit your ideas!!
