I was asked today why did we start a scraplift challenge because it’s difficult and not encouraging creativity...

I decided to carry on the discussion here and not by email for once!

First I think it’s not difficult: you get inspiration from a layout and you work with it as a model: you might end up with a different - a completely different layout sometimes - scraplifting doesn’t mean you have to do exactly the same page!

I think scraplifting does help a lot to be creative, especially if you’re just starting digital scrap, but even when you’ve been scrapbooking for years, it’s still a great thing to do, it often helps to have something to start with, like an example? a guide? And I know scrappers who ONLY scraplift and the work is awesome.

I find all the pages here (and the others) very creative, don’t you think they are all different, very personal, and they all had the same model yet each scrapper followed her own ideas???

I don’t want to make funny comparisons here so I won’t talk about how some great painters started their career… but artists generally start after others’ work, that is how they develope their personal style, I find it so natural that scrappers scraplift

I’ve got a few layouts to show you. I made a LO with the kit Logan’s Day (couldn’t resist!!) for the Photo Swap Challenge at the forum, I was thinking it’s a shame we don’t have more participants for this one because I like this challenge! Maybe we’ll have to stop it.

The LOs below are from Rachael’s very active CT members with her beautiful kit Modern Classic. Did you get the template at the store it’s free and Rachael has included a few samples of the kit in it!

Because I still often get enquiries about using my products for scrap-for-hire/small printing/crafts businesses, I have worked on a Commercial License again (I was told the file in the former one was inaccurate so that’s fixed) Click on the picture below if you are interested. Although some of my personal use products are already okay for (limited) commercial use (I always mention it in the description like Country Fair, Fresh Bouquet and Fresh Bouquet 2 but there are others) this will be helpful and save the customers and myself a lot of time. Hopefully all designers at DAC will have their own soon!

Message to the coffee machines: you did not dream, I did create a secret forum for us but it’s gone and sometimes I am just tired of doing the sames things twice - and I do a lot of things twice with DAC - I gave up! I will create a new secret place anyway I need it for one of my projects but will wait a little.
