The 8 things I have learned today

1- I cannot tell people to do things if I don’t do those things myself it is NOT right :) (I send tips and tricks to our affiliates about blogging… can you believe it? I can’t…) so I worked a bit more on this blog today and when I realized how crappy it was, especially after I read this I decided it is time to try new things. So I replaced my boring pic with that animated gif there (been wanting to do this since I started this blog!) what do you think? :) and I started thinking about how to offer a different content.

Maybe I’ll find some new ideas on Monday.

2- Gandaki can make girly doodles in Illustrator hehe (so I asked him to draw me a princess to go with my next kit and then a pack of animals and then so many other packs of doodles but I don’t know if he will actually create them, we’ll see)

3- Gandaki didn’t know what a feed reader is (yes that same Gandaki who is in charge of the technical stuff here… ahem, now you understand why we’re struggling so much… sometimes :) or maybe you don’t. But we definitely are struggling to make everything work. I mean everything works. I mean I just don’t know how everything works.

4- I can still read German. I refresh my rusty German here at Babs’. For a minute I made a dream… that I would blog in German WOW. But blogging in English is hard enough, so I will stick to one language only.

5- Not being blonde anymore makes me happy (I’ve dyed my hair for good today yeepeeee) but not more clever.

6- AOL is not accepting anyone else on their whitelist (or so I was told) too bad, I’ve got lots of subscribers at AOL and asking them to change their email address is just ridiculous, I just don’t know what to do.

7- I’ve got an awesome great super extra motivated Creative Team for the store and they are secretely scrapbooking with a kit from a new designer - that we will welcome soon… :)

I’ve got a few layouts to show you. I have to make another post. This is the number 8 on the list of things I have learned today… not to post everything at the same time!

I’m blue

After my terrible morning today - I do know more “terrible” things than sending an empty newsletter to thousands of people but it was quite an awful moment I tell you especially the second time I did it… - I went for a walk in town and got a few urgent things done - they remained urgent for 3 or 4 weeks… When I came back home, I went to wash my hands and looked in the mirror and saw that I had blue ink all around the face (I changed the printer’s cartridge just before I left) so… basically I crossed the whole town with a blue face and NO ONE told me ANYTHING. Which is not so bad or I would have turned red. I have scrapbooked my crappy day. Crappy days deserve to be scrapbooked sometimes.

I decided to work on the blog today. If you read me from a feed reader come here otherwise you won’t see much change. So I grabbed another cup of coffee (and this time it did not go onto the keyboard) and with a little help from my web admin (okay okay a big help…) I added some great new features - I couldn’t decently carry on without those, giving advices to our affiliates on blogging and blah blah do as I say not as I do… - BTW thanks for joining see, now I actually DO what I advice other people to do hehe :) SIGN UP TODAY it will be fun (yep! I can make affiliation marketing completely fun :) The features we added to the blog are not so difficult to add I mean, with a “normal” blog. But here we make things complicated because we do not like it when it is simple you see… because Gandaki chose to use Dotclear to build a blog, we have to do everything ourselves from A to Z (I hate this blog but I think I told you already quite a few times oh I mean I like blogging a lot I just hate it when it comes to customizing it but it was about time…)
So now,
- I can play with you all social bookmarkers, add me to del.icio.us and stumble and technorati and God knows what else, I’m in
- there is a nice cloud of tags because I’m tagging my blog posts and I LOVE IT
- Gooooooogle can you see meeeeee? I bet you can now AT LAST
- There is a calendar so you can now browse the blog using either the calendar or the tags (or the categories, pages, archives but this was not easy)
oh and i forgot the anti-spamming thingy on the comments

All this (it took us 6 hours, I know it is pretty bad) was NOTHING compared to what we have to do next. But it will be for Monday. Now I can only do the fun and easy things and I am heading to the gallery to post a few comments.

My WOW morning

WOW this morning is a WOW morning!
I spread my coffee cup ALL over the keyboard and I mean AAAAALL OVER, had to dry it… with the hair dryer… no connection for 3 hours, then when it came back… I sent an empty newsletter to 1800 people!!! (I stopped before I send that empty message to the rest of our subscribers) not once NO noooo: ridiculizing myself and annoying 1000 more people just one time wasn’t enough of course, so TWICE I sent that emptiness to the cyberspace… (I changed my hair color a few days ago so I thought… well I thought not blonde anymore=less mistakes?) and the grand final… you don’t want to know… do you want to know? My computer crashed and now I have to re-install all my softwares…
I apologize to the subscribers who got that weird empty mail and those who got it twice now I am going to cry… boohoo. Ok, done. :)
I also apologize for the people on aol who cannot open my mails and those who receive it upside down or looking horrible… it’s me, not you. I will be working on all our problems today as soon as the computer is back to normal.
Have a good day, hopefully it will start better than mine, some days I’d better stay in bed and just wait for the next morning.
